Been a while…………..

Its been a while since I updated this blog.
The main part was my own stupidity, I forgot the password — DOH!

I could recap on the last 3 months or so but that would take ages and I am too lazy for detailed updates like that.

So in a nutshell — Been working a lot, trying not to buy new guitars and spending time on the internet and so forth.

The main point of interest, well I say interesting but that is yet to be seen, is the demise of my trusty car. Yep the shitmobile has finaly run its course. It was MOT’ed on Friday and is way beyond economic repair. Everything seems to have died at once! But then it is a 95 Toyota, so a bit old.It has given me 7 years or so of relatively trouble free motoring with few annual expenses. So it will be going to the great scrapyard in the sky in the next few days.
I already have a new car earmarked and that will have to wait till i have it secured before giving the details.

Long roads, crazy drivers and they all talk funny

Ξ December 17th, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Stuff |

Got back last night from a trip south to visit Hamish.

The trip down was a long one, having been early shift on the monday and having to do everything after y shift to ready myself for the tip down: laundry shopping and car checks etc I left myself no time for a nap or snooze before heading down the long road. (At least it’s downhill most of the way). Driving through the night i was very tired so i stopped often for coffee and to take several leaks. I also thought it would be best to stop for a sleep which was around Birmingham i think. I had a couple of hours of snooze in the car which got quite cold and the sun came up whilst i had my eyes closed, so a bit of a shock to the system. Also the strange person standing looking at me sleeping in my warm hat, pulled over my eyes and my hooded top must have thought “what manner of creature slumbers here???” Onwards to Bath and to the home of Hamish.

Spent most of the week chillin out and just relaxing, what a holiday is for. Played a little guitar and chatted before embarking on a series of Madden NFL head to head games. I won 3 to Hams 2. Although there were several aborted games in which I was building an impressive lead before Ham pressed his footswitch to reset his PC. The scores speak for themselves where raw talent and genius beats experience and an anal attention to detail ;P

We went into Norton for Hams 21st (read 36th) Birthday and had a nice meal and then down the bar for a few pints and a chat with the locals who all talk weird, but some of whom were very attractive young ladies. It has to be said there was not a spug amonst the female patrons of the wonderbar that night but on the male front it was spug central (I am exempt from that statement for reasons that are easy to see - Handsome bastard me).

The driving ability of the south west denziens leaves a lot to be desired, the highway code must be different if you learn to drive on a tractor. It leaves give way junctions, red lights and lane markings as an optional extra it seems. Not to mention the speed limit, fleeing down the road on a blind bend on the wrong side of the road and overtaking at a crossroads seems to be the norm. The road signs seem to indicate that they are still pointing in ways to confuse the German invasion force of WWII should they arrive a little tardy.
Then there was the long drive home (uphill of course) that was taken at a contained pace with many stops once more for coffee and pissing, although far less than the outward journey. One highlight was a coffee girl in the first services into Cumbria who was stunning to look at and she had a great smile. The coffee was average at best tho.

All in all a good trip and nice to get away. I even didn’t plan to murder Hamish in his sleep. Mainly as I thought the walrus that must sleep beside him considering the loud, constant and quite frankly disturbing mating calls is made all night made me fearful of approaching, with or without a weapon.

So everybody should now be doing the snow dance. Worship the snow gods, the Wendigo is a good one to start of with, only minimal human sacrifices required. I want snow. Had a few flurries over the last week but its not really good enough.

I am a 34 year old child who is tall, darkish and arguably handsome. Apart from me who would argue this is a matter for speculation and debate in itself.

I play guitar and bass pretty badly and sing like a dead donkey in heat. I also enjoy reading, computers and drinking expensive beer. I also spend some spare time doing technical things for a local amateur theatre group.

    And I love women
